Congrats to the Winners

Justin McBrayer and Shawn Collins with 16.25 pounds

Lake James NCTBF Team Trail Tournament #4 was a smashing success!!! All totaled over $3,000+ was awarded in cash, prizes and merchandise. Thanks to everyone for another fantastic raffle where Go-Pro Cameras, Quantum Rod/Reel combo, YETI Dry Bag, a KVD Tour Edition rod, a free tournament entry worth $180 – won by Mr. Pete Peterson from Top Sail Bassmasters out of Jacksonville NC, and more were all given away this weekend. Over $300 was raised for the NCTBF STATE TEAM headed to Santee Cooper and the District 2 Semi National Championship this November.
Almost every team caught a 3+ pound fish and had some Small Mouth Bass to weigh in. The Big Bass was caught by the team of David Newell and Chris Moss from Lucky Strike Bassmasters with a 4.37 pound Small mouth Bass worth $196. The 2nd Big Bass was a nice 4.04 pound largemouth caught by the team of Mike Marion and Robert Griswold also from Lucky Strike Bassmasters taking home a check for $84. Great job guys!!!
The first place prize was taken by Justin McBrayer and Shawn Collins with 16.25 pounds and a check for $890. After persevering from a flat tire, dropped tailpipe a blown motor and a blown fuse on the backup boats trolling motor, the duo stuck it out and pulled in the victory. Great job guys. Local legend and fishing guru Jeff Hager and his partner David Combs of Alexis Bassmasters came in 2nd with a nice mixed bag of fish weighing in at 15.69 which netted them a nice $534 check. The father and son team of Rex and Chad Sasser from Elite Fishing out of Wilmington NC finished out the top 3 with a last minute flurry to fill out their limit and take the 3rd place check of $356. Hats off to everyone for making the trip to Lake James. We were about 1 or 2 weeks early for the rush to the bank but Kerr Scott in N. Wilkesboro looks t be in prime condition for the sight fishing bite. Local pro Brandon Eggers of SkyLine Bassmasters expects it to take 25+ for the win this Saturday April 13th. Hopefully the weather will cooperate as this past Saturdays weather was once again a post front condition with high East winds and yucky weather.
