Lake Tillery Results

Congrats to the Winners
PETE PETERSON and RICHARD LUDWIG

The North Carolina Bass Federation’s 3rd stop of the season was on lake Tillary. With a 15 degree temperature drop and post front conditions one would expect to see the lake being stingy. Not this Saturday. Rich Ludwig and Pete Peterson took home $1,240 for their 1st place finish with 19.80 pounds of Tillary’s big bass. Jeremy Sullivan with Partner Dane Butler took 2nd on a schooling bite along with close to $800 and 18.96 pounds. Mike Marion and NCTBF president Robert Griswold rounded out the money and 3rd place with 18.86 pounds and 1st big fish. Robert sacked the 5.50 big fish in the closing minutes of the tournament on a secondary point. Justin McBrayer took 2nd Big fish with a 5.42 pound largemouth. Congratulations to everyone who participated. Troutmans BBQ was enjoyed by all while over$800 in raffle prizes was awarded. A YETI dry bag, Quantum Accurist rod/reel combo, GO-Pro camera,, YOLO tec power stick and a free tournament entry plus more prizes were given away at the Tillary tournament. The post front conditions slowed down the bite but our guys were still able to catch them. Spinnerbaits, crankbaits and an a-rig all helped our members catch those green bass. We had a great turn out and a wonderful event. The next Team Trail Tournament will take us into the mountains near Nebo and Marion NC on lake James. Small mouth will be the primary target with a few big large mouth bass thrown in the mix. Last year had 5 teams with over 30 pounds, so we are hoping to see that same result. Come join the fun and register to fish at ncbass.org come out and enjoy a day on the water with your fishing buddy and come catch some big small mouth bass in two weeks.
